The stories here have a common thread that when read all together can feel too close to his other work. Feminine Wiles is a collection of sixteen short stories by John Grover. Cook’s narrator moves into dark and original imaginary terrain; Canty’s hero attends a Christian Singles club and visits a rural massage parlor where he discovers he enjoys the treatments named in the title.
